INDIVIDUALIZED SUPPORT THAT MEETS YOUR CHILD'S NEEDS
Every child is at different points in their academic journey.
Younger learners tend to need a private teacher to build strong fundamentals while older students often benefit from guidance and support as they work through assignments and test prep.
So, we offer three tailored options:
1) a private teacher for learning new skills
2) a private teacher-tutor combo for structured lessons focused on learning a new skill + with flexible scheduling
3) a private tutor for help with better understanding concepts taught in school
PRIVATE TEACHERS
teaches new material; follows a curriculum and/or develops a structured lesson plan
meets on a regular schedule; typically at least 1x per week
often certified in the discipline
academics (reading or math) or for a skill (piano)
typically a good fit for elementary aged students learning the fundamentals + students who are learning a skill not taught in school
PRIVATE TUTORS
supports existing learning that is being taught in school
flexible: can meet consistently or short term
may or may not have formal teaching credentials
test prep, homework help, improving understanding or performance in a specific area
typically a good fit for middle and high school students who are working to understand and complete course work

We are a collection of qualified and competent teachers who understand the potential of utilizing research based instruction, know how to provide high quality instruction, and care about helping students achieve their academic goals and foster a sense of confidence.
Our Tutors:
Our tutors are high-achieving students, many of whom are from the University of Texas. They know firsthand what it takes to succeed academically. In addition to bringing subject knowledge, they also bring strong study habits, real-world experience with today’s academic expectations, and a relatable, encouraging presence that helps students stay motivated and on track.

When scheduling your sessions, please talk with Andrea about which would be a better fit for your child - a private teacher or a private tutor.
Prior to scheduling a session, we ask tutoring families to fill out this google form to help us learn a bit more about their child and what skills they are looking to work on. This allows us to best match the child with the teacher/tutor.
